Obituary

Obituary for Alice Mae Bruton

Alice Mae Burton, age 76, died on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. Alice was born on August 8, 1942 in Dallas, Texas to Sam Bruton and Clara Catherine Mitchell. Alice was a family oriented and loving woman. Her neighbors remember her as being a very sweet lady. She loved shopping, enjoyed and cared for cats, and was helpful when she was able. Alice had a sharp mind and was good with numbers, working as a book keeper in accounting for many years. Alice possessed a very pointed sense of humor and was an avid reader. She spent much of her time to herself in the last several years of her life. Alice is preceded in death by her parents and sister Gayle Holt. Left to cherish her memory are brother Everett Longley and good friend Brenda Weaver, nephews Joshua Alford and wife Rachael, Bradley Holt; niece Brandi Holt; as well as numerous other extended family and friends. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point, TX.

My condolences to the Bruton families. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of dear Alice. Some Bible scriptures that have helped me during times of loss include Isaiah 26:19 and Psalm 37:28,29 which states in part: "Your dead ones will live...They will rise up". And the Bible also says "The righteous themselves will possess the earth and they will forever reside upon it". Therefore the Bible promises that we may be reunited with our loved ones lost in death by means of an earthly resurrection. This is further confirmed by John 5:28,29 which says "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". This is possible thanks to Jesus Christ's ransom sacrifice. Thus we have a genuine hope of everlasting life in a world without wickedness or suffering.
