Obituary

Martin “Butch” Gorski, age 74, was welcomed home by his Lord on Friday, November 29, 2019. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Henry and Irene (Wontkowski) Gorski on Tuesday, January 9, 1945. Butch was a member of the Unites States Army, and bravely served his country during the Vietnam War. After an injury during the war, Butch was honorably discharged and returned home. His family and friends reflect back on how much he enjoyed life and loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Butch was a big-hearted man, who was known for keeping the people around him on their toes. Being a true outdoorsman, he enjoyed the lake and camping when he was able. Butch is preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert Gorski and first wife Joan Decker-Gorski. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 42 years, Diana Gorski; son by marriage Cory Volden; son James Decker; son Dale Decker; son Richard Decker; daughter Tina Wheeler; daughter Tammy Hendrix; son Steven Gorski; son Michael Gorski; grandson Kyle Hendrix; granddaughter Brooke Hendrix; grandson Zackary Gorski; granddaughter Valeri Gorski as well as numerous extended family and friends. The family will receive friends for a visitation between 2:00 and 4:00pm, on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 N. MacArthur Blvd in Irving. Memorial donations by the families request are to be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
