Obituary for Lillie Mae Lommel (Lofton)

“Lillie Mae Lommel” above all else was very passionate about her family. She was a strong persistent and determined women who, although she fell, would continue to get up. This was a picture of her life in many ways. She believed strongly in never giving up. Lillie Mae was a no-nonsense woman who wanted to get the job done. She possessed a strong work ethic even into her later years. After her cancer diagnosis she continued to work with her husband in their business, drove for Lyft, and officiated high school girls’ volleyball games. She was a member of the Fort Worth Metro Volleyball Association. When she did relax, Lillie Mae enjoyed being at the beach. She married the love of her life Donald on June 20, 1971. She will be remembered as a woman who gave unselfishly, who was tough when she needed to be and loved with all her heart. She touched many lives, all of whom will miss her dearly.

Lillie Mae is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Eva Lofton; Brothers: Wiley and Sid (Buddy) Lofton; and sister, Elizabeth Pollock-Lofton. She is survived by, her loving husband of 48 years Donald Lommel; daughter, Jennifer Henderson and husband Jon; daughter, Veronica Lommel; brother, William (Bill) Lofton, brother, Franklin (Shorty) Lofton and wife Kitty; Grandchildren; James (Sid) Henderson, Sean Henderson, and Syrus Johnson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, loyal family and loving friends.
