I am so sorry for your loss. I was unable to attend the memorial service due to health issues. I have many fond
memories thru the years of Gene. Our parents were good friends when we were growing up. I remember fishing trips to the coast, and later enjoying great fellowship with Gene and Cynthia as teachers and leaders at First Assembly DFW. God Bless you.

Gene, what character! Our families have been connected in some form since the late 1930’s.My Mom knew your Grandmother Voirin then. My mother-in-law was at F A/G Irving long before your your Dad and Mom came there. My Mom and Dad joined there Jan. 1961. I was 9 yrs. of age and from that day forward I admired your work on the Guitar. You tried to teach me but got a variety of reasons I gave it up. I have many memories of you , your Grandparents, Sparr and your Dad and Mom. Prayers for all those that You and Cynthia have left here. I know you’ Have a wondrous time picking high upon the mountains of Heaven. Enjoy, until we meet again.Brent, Chet and families you have a cherishable Heritage.

I have known Gene since we were about 5 years old when my parents became members of First Assembly. I adored his mother and respected his father very much. They are the reason I have the faith and beliefs in God that I have now. They were a cornerstone of my life. I will miss Gene but know he is in heaven with his lovely family celebrating. RIP my friend

Dad you were truly one of a kind . i know we were opposite personalities but i know i made you laugh and you cracked me up all the time with some of the things you would say, or the way you did stuff. i will always remember all the things you can do with zip ties thanks to you. as with everyone there are many sides to people and i saw all of yours. the sweet tender side that was always ready to pray for someone, the generous side that would always offer to buy a meal for anyone that was hungry. the funny side that had quirky sayings, the entertaining side with a song in your heart to sing at random, last but not least was the stubborn side, all sides shining through until your last breath. you were full of advice and lots of stories to tell. i am thankful for all the things you have done for me and blessed to have been your daughter in law....
i love you
