Ernest Lester Brice, age 63, died on Wednesday, November 6, 2019. Ernest was born on July 17, 1956 to Tommy Brice and Shirley Ruth (Thurman) Brice. Ernest, affectionately known as Skip, was a country boy from Nocona, Texas and certainly a fan of the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and was quick to throw in a line wherever the water gathered. He also enjoyed playing golf and played pretty well. Skip didn’t mix beans with the chili. He said what needed to be said the way it needed to be said. Skip was fun to be around and possessed a dry sense of humor mixed with a smidge of wit. Skip was a servant to many, his country included. He served honorably in the United States Airforce and continued a successful career with the Department of Defense. Skip will be missed and was a blessing to those who crossed his path. Skip is preceded in death by his father Tommy. Left to cherish his memory are mother Shirley Thurman; sister Valerie Ervin; brothers Dayle Brice and wife Sarah and Jimmy Brice; as well as many other extended family and loving friends. A graveside service will be held at 1:15pm on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway Dallas, TX 75211.
