Obituary for Robert Neil Parker

Robert “Bob” Parker, age 91, died on Tuesday, December 17, 2019. Bob was born on September 2, 1928 in Freemont, Nebraska to Marie (Schow) Parker and William Parker. Bob was a dedicated, generous, and very kind man and made himself available to those in need. He possessed a strong work ethic that benefited those in his care. He would often times sit silent in the background but rest assured he was absorbing what he heard and observed. Bob was a sacrificial servant to both his family and his country. He was a natural leader and highly respected by many. Bob was witty and well spoken. He could say what needed to be said the way it needed to be said. He was a very accomplished individual who earned his PhD in electrical engineering and after serving an excess of five years as a SSgt in the United States Air Force was appointed as Deputy Director of Defense Research and Engineering at the Pentagon. He loved Fox News and rarely missed it. Bob loved his children evidenced by his persistent presence in their lives and his improved ability to articulate his love for them in his later years. He always kept in mind the best for others and had a genuine sentimentality about him. Bob was a perfect balance of hard and soft. Bob is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Marie Parker and wife Helen Parker. Left to cherish his memory are partner Velma Yeoham “the love of his life”; son Bruce Parker and wife Linda; daughter Teresa Desiree Parker; sisters Lois Chapman and Donna West; grandchildren Kristie Parker, Kerri Hinkle, Kelly Parker; great grandchildren Jameson and Maxwell Hinkle; as well as numerous other loving family and dedicated friends.
