Obituary for Robert E. Brown

Robert E. Brown, a resident of Irving, TX for the past 50 years, passed away on July 7th. He was 78 years old. Born in Pana, Il on March 7, 1942 to parents Hubert E. Brown and Dorothy Mae Brown, Bob was an avid basketball player.

Bob worked as a master electrician after spending four years in the Air Force serving our country during , the Vietnam war (Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines). Shortly thereafter, he pursued a career as an Electrical Inspector with the City of Dallas, where he served our community for 23 years.

Bob had a passion for fishing until his body would not allow him any longer. If he wasn’t driving around looking at area lakes, you would typically find him fishing at Lake Dallas for largemouth and/or sand bass. After retirement, he joined the Heritage Senior Center and enjoyed playing pool with a great group of guys at the center, joking around, sharing stories, and having lots of fun.

He was married to his wife Jaynell for 56 years. They were blessed with two children, a daughter, Jeanne and son, Michael. They have 3 grandchildren of which Bob was very proud and brought much joy to the family.

He will be inurned at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, Wounded Warriors or Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
