Rebecca S. Plankenhorn, age 71, passed away at home on Saturday, November 29, 2020. She was born in Lubbock, Texas to Rosario Sanchez and Oralia Jimenz on Friday, June 24, 1949. Rebecca was extremely independent, loved to dance and travel but above all her family and friends made her life complete. They lovingly remember the love and comfort she provided to them throughout their life. Rebecca had an unforgettable sense of style, was a bit sassy and her vitality in life will forever live on in the hearts and memories of those that knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents Rosario and Oralia, brothers Gilbert Sanchez, Lupe Sanchez and Jesse Sanchez. Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 30 years, William “Fred” Plankenhorn; son John Anthony Walker; son Jerry Walker; son Joel Walker; 7 grandchildren, Jessica Walker, James Walker, Sarah Walker, Dustin Walker, David Walker, Danielle Walker and Dalton Walker; brother Ruben Sanchez; sisters Offelia Cruz, Sandy Solis, Mary Ann Rodriguez and Molly Long as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. A private family visitation will be held at the funeral home, please contact the family for details regarding attendance and restrictions. A graveside service will be open to the public at 3:00pm, on Friday, December 4, 2020 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 E. Irving Blvd. Please note, face mask and social distancing are required for both viewing and the graveside service.
