Obituary for Patsy Ruth "Pat" Johnson (Sawyer)

Patsy Ruth "Pat"  Johnson (Sawyer)
Patsy (Pat) Ruth Sawyer Johnson, of Irving, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 6, 2011. She was born November 19, 1932 in Galveston to Jack and Maggie Sawyer. Pat was a very devoted and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a an elementary physical education teacher with the IISD for 26 years before retiring in 1994 to spend time with her children and grandchildren, traveling, reading, and gardening. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Irving. Pat was known for being the best delegator in the world. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, A.B. Johnson of Irving; daughters Edie Miller and husband Ed of Hickory Creek, Phyllis Hamblen and husband Hal of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Wanda Brumit and husband Roy of Garland; son Dale Johnson and wife Connie of Arlington; and grandchildren Trey Miller, Andrew Miller and wife Teresa, Ashley Miller-Niland and husband Jamey, Brad Hamblen, Holly Hamblen, Sarah Brumit, and Kelly Brumit. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, December 9, 2011 at Brown’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Durham officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church/Childrens Ministry, 403 S. Main St., Irving, TX 75060.
