Obituary for Orville Ray "Chip" Morton

Orville “Chip” Ray Morton, age 65, died on Monday, September 23, 2019. Orville was born on September 25, 1953 in Dallas, Texas to Mary Cecil (Fry) Morton and Paul Kenneth Morton. Orville, affectionately known as “Chip”, loved his family dearly. He had a passion for music and was given the ability to play both the guitar and piano. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Oklahoma Sooners and followed baseball also. Chip came to know the Lord when he was twelve years old. He enjoyed studying the Bible and committed scripture to memory. He was confident in his eternal security and was ready to meet the Lord face to face. While he had his physical struggles, he was certain of God’s faithfulness and unmistakable presence. Chip is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Lacey Rhea; son Matthew Dillon. Left to cherish his memory are daughters Christie, Brittney Rhea, Mary Kaitlyn; loving partner Maria Jones; grandchildren Eden and Aden; brothers Bobby Morton and wife Joan, Kenneth Lee Morton and wife Yvette; as well as numerous other extended family and loving friends. In memory of Chip, please go and read the Gospel of John, chapter 14, verses 1-3, and may the Lord bless you with His word.
