Obituary

Olivia Saucillo Diaz, 77, of Irving, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday evening, July 12, 2020 at her home. Born in Lometa, Texas to Ermenejildo Saucillo and Maria (Martinez) Saucillo on February 20, 1943, Olivia was one who enjoyed and thrived being with her family as well as watching country western movies whenever and wherever she could. She and her husband Theodore moved to Irving in 1966 and was active in her parish church, St. Luke’s Catholic Church of Irving. Olivia was preceded in death by her husband Theodore L. Diaz, Jr., grandson Jeffery Mathena and her parents. Left behind to cherish her memory are son Juan R. Diaz; daughters Maria C. Diaz, Maria E. Brown and Belinda Diaz; granddaughters Jennifer Ross, Jordan Diaz and Emma Ross; sisters Elida Martinez and Josephiane Barron; as well as numerous extended family and loving friends. The family will gather at the funeral home for a private time where the Rosary will be said at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2020. On Friday there will be a public Graveside Service in the Garden of Devotion at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 East Irving Blvd. in Irving. All are welcome to attend but asked to practice social distancing and to wear masks. In lieu of floral remembrances, the family encourages those who wish to contribute in memorium to a Lukemia or Colon Cancer Foundation
