Obituary for Mary Saied Bailey

Mary Lamartine Saied Bailey, 66, of Irving, Texas, passed away on January 4, 2021. Memorial service is pending.

Mary was born in Wellington, Texas, on September 14, 1954, daughter of Mack Saied, Jr. and Lam McKay Saied. After graduating from Wellington High School she attended Texas Tech University where she graduated in 3 years with a degree in Sociology.

She worked most of her life in sales and management, where she was very popular with her customers and coworkers. When her boys were young, she sought jobs with flexible schedules so she could be free to take them to their many sports practices and games, which she enjoyed immensely.

Mary, Mary – A generous gift giver, a talented athlete, the life of the party. She loved her family, her friends, the sun, the beach, sports, chocolate, Mexican food and margaritas. She was gregarious, a bringer of laughter, a self-deprecating comic, and always the consummate shopper.

But her two shining moments in life were the births of her boys, Saied and McKay. She devoted her life to them and loved them without measure. They will forever occupy a gigantic piece of her beautiful heart.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Lam Saied and a brother, James Steven Saied. She is survived by her husband, Doug Willoughby; two sons, Bradford Saied Bailey and Alexander McKay Bailey, both of McKinney, Texas; a brother, Robert Mack Saied and his wife, Jane; 2 sisters, Cindy Saied McComas and her husband, Kenny, and Becky Saied Myers; and 10 nieces and nephews.

To all who knew her, Mary was a burst of joy, a ray of sunshine, a soothing comfort and a breath of fresh air. She left behind an abundance of loyal and loving friends, both old and new. She was greatly loved, and she will forever live in our hearts.
