Obituary

Mark Anthony Terry, a man indescribable by words but unforgettable to those that were blessed to have been a part of his life, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 33 years of age. He began his journey into this world and our lives on Thursday, March 12, 1987 in Dallas, Texas when he was born to Roy Wayne and Ruth (Mazur) Terry. Even as an infant, Mark had a smile that would light up a room, a fun and goofy personality that would leave one guessing what he was doing but at the same time make you laugh. Mark, although playful and funny, had an equally strong, hardheaded, dedicated and ambitious side. As he grew in age and size, every bit of these traits grew just as big as he did. Anyone who knew Mark, knew his exterior of steel was only a physical shell for the heart and soul of a kindhearted, caring, and larger than life loving teddy bear.
Marks father Roy loved sports and for years was a coach for the Irving IBBA and IBFA Associations. At a young age, Mark, being a natural born athlete, played soccer, baseball, basketball, football and ran track. Mark graduated from Nimitz Highschool, Class of 2006, and during his highschool years, he proudly played left tackle with his fellow Vikings. Mark received a football scholarship which transitioned his life away from his home in Texas to a college school life and playing college ball at North Western Oklahoma University in Alva, Oklahoma; and a semi-pro football career after. Life ebbed and flowed as it does, and Mark went with the flow, working hard, and living life. In November of 2012, Mark was introduced to the absolute love of his life, best friend, his son Jaxon. They were inseparable from day one and throughout the years you could find the two of them either playing video games or on the motorcycle. The last few years, Mark’s love for his son, sports and job, led him to many weekends of him and his son hanging out at his workplace together. You could see the joy in his eyes while doing what he loved with who he loved dearly. He is preceded in death by his father Roy Terry, grandparents Wayne and Betty Terry, grandparents William and Jane Mazur. Left to carry on his legacy are his mother Ruth Terry; beloved son Jaxon Terry and his mother Kacee Prater; brother William “Bubba” Terry and wife Brooke; 2 nephews Archer and Reese Terry along with numerous loving extended family, friends and coworkers. Mark’s footprint in this life and our hearts will forever be cherished and his life forever carried on within each of our hearts, memories, stories and laughter. So, lift up a shot of Jamison to Mark!!
