Obituary for Marilyn “Gail” Conder Wells

Marilyn “Gail” Conder Wells, age 68, of Irving, Texas passed away while on hospice care on Sunday, January 3, 2021. She was born on Tuesday, August 19, 1952 in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of Morgan and Mamie Conder. Gail graduated from Irving High School in 1970. In 1984 she graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with her specialization in accounting. Gail was a CPA and had a lengthy career in the accounting field. In 2011 she served a three year term on the Irving ISD school board, at which time her accounting experience added significantly to the school board and their efforts. Gail made a profession of faith in Christ at 9 years of age while in Vacation Bible School at Oak View Baptist Church in Irving. She loved the Lord Jesus because he first loved her. Gail also dearly loved her sisters in Christ. From the age of 13 Gail played softball and continued to play for approximately 30 years. She particularly enjoyed following the Texas Rangers. She is survived by her beloved husband of 20 years, James Wells; son Christopher Dickens and wife Billie; daughter Jennifer Rodriguez; daughter Erica Chappell; grandchildren Morgan Rodriguez, Riley and Abbie Dickens and Charlie Chappell; sister Joan McCorkle and husband Myron; sister Marcia Gaither and husband Ronny; sister Nancy Parker and husband George; brother Morgan Brent Conder and wife Cynthia as well as numerous extended family and loving friends.
