Obituary for Marilyn Janice Parrish

Marilyn J. Parrish age 83 of Irving, Texas passed away August 4, 2020. She was born October 23, 1936 to father, Clyde Thomas and mother, Johnnie Mae Thomas in Hollandale, Mississippi. Marilyn married the love of her life John Parrish on October 23, 1957 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Marilyn and her family moved to Irving in 1973, after John retired from the Air Force.
Marilyn served in the United State Air Force from July 1955 to January 7, 1958. She worked off and on while raising her children. After moving to Irving, she worked for the Post Office.

She loved volunteering with her church and when the children were growing up Marilyn volunteered as a Girl Scout leader. Marilyn enjoyed traveling and fulfilled a lifelong dream of visiting Israel. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband of almost 59 years John Parrish; father, Clyde Thomas; mother, Johnnie Mae Thomas; brother, Charles Thomas; brother, Billy Thomas; sister, Martha Thomas; brother, William (Buddy) Thomas; and brother, Jimmy Thomas. She is survived by daughter, Wanda Hoff; daughter, Cheryl Page and husband Robert Espinosa; son, Gerald Parrish and wife Terri; sister, Mildred (Gigi) McKay; brother, Larry Thomas and wife Janice; sister, Joan Gordon; sister in law, Dorothy Thomas; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends who will all miss and love Marilyn dearly.
