Obituary for Maria Santos Bermudez

Maria Santos Bermudez, age 85, entered the Gates of Heaven on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Cuidad Arce, El Salvador to Antonio Bermudez and Petronila Segura on Thursday, November 9, 1933. Maria was a loving person and caretaker of so many. She would always take care of friends, neighbors, her children’s friends and the same on down the line of generations. She became everyone’s mom, grandma and friend, looking out for those she loved, without ever a complaint. She will lovingly be remembered for her loyalty of never missing a birthday or holiday even if it was just a phone call of love on that special day. Marie was a Pentecostal Christian for over 60 years, she found joy in singing praise songs and praying to her Lord and Savior. She was an amazing cook and found cooking as a way to stay motivated and connected to friends and family. Maria was what you would call a people person, never meeting a stranger and was a light in the lives of all those blessed to know her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Antonio & Petronila, husband of 15 plus years Jose Rutilio Chacon, sisters Antonia Bermudez & Nicolasa Bermudez and grandchild Alez Hernandez. Left to cherish her memory are daughter Celina Borrajas & husband Damaso; daughter Lilian Maribel Chacon; daughter Vilma Hernandez and husband Jose; son Jose Rutilio Chacon and wife Martha; daughter Nora Alicia Chacon and husband Jose Iraheta; son Nelson Chacon; grandchildren Julio Dimas and wife Gema, Yeni Valladares, Eliseo Dimas and wife Maira, Nory Dimas, Rutilio Dimas and wife Veronica, Hamilton Hernandez and wife Denise, Wendy Hernandez, Mario Hernandez, Sara Hernandez, Melissa Chacon, Monica Trigo & husband Aaron, Denise Franco, Diana Barroeta & husband Joaquin, Daniel Barrajas, Roberto Barrajas, Roxanna Avila & husband Stephen, Jose Iraheta and wife Vanessa, Jonathan Iraheta, Vilma Magali Iraheta, Genisis Iraheta, Nelson Chacon; great grandchildren Genessey Dimas, Julio Dimas III, Rudy Valladares, Kevin Valladares, Steven Valladares, Emily Dimas, Amy Dimas, Axel Sanchez, Alondra Sanchez, Melanie, Anahi Dimas, Luca Dimas, Phillip Rico, Nohe Rico, Hamilton Hernandez II, Jaden Hernandez and Lucas Avila, along with numerous extended loving family and friends. The family will receive friends between 6:00 and 8:00pm, Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 N. MacArthur Blvd. in Irving. A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 1, 2019 beginning at 1:00pm, also at the funeral home with an interment at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens immediately following.
