Obituary for Lois Pauline Blume (Lagow)

Lois Pauline Blume
December 12, 1936 - December 26, 2020

Lois was born in Oakland California to Robert and Athena Lagow into a Navy way of life. After WWII they returned to Robert's native Texas and Fort Worth where there were deep family roots. She graduated from Fort Worth Polytechnic High School in 1954. Then soon met her future husband John, an Airman stationed a Carswell AFB. John and Lois married September 1956 at Fort Worth St. Patricks Catholic Church. After they settled in the Mid-Cities in 1957 and raised a family of seven. Lois spent a lifetime of volunteerism often around her children’s actives, little league sports, riding club, hospital candy striper, and school/PTA. She was an expert seamstress and avid crafts person in stain glass, ceramics, books with a special passion for antique furniture and clocks.

Lois is preceded in death by her husband John Sr. and son John Jr. She is survived by her sister Kathleen, children Katherine Hurst, Robert, Chris, Karen Thieme, Jennifer, Matthew, and 11 grandchildren, Richard, Adam, William, Emily, Jesse, Travis, Alex, Aaron, Savannah, Emma, and Kelsi.

In lieu of flowers donations in honor of Lois may be made to St Jude Hospital and Wounded Warrior Project

A viewing for Lois will be held 3:00p.m. – 4:00p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2020 at Brown’s Memorial Chapel 707 N. MacArthur Blvd. Irving, TX 75061 please note due to Covid restrictions there is an attendance restriction of 40 people in the funeral home at a time. A graveside service will be held 10:15a.m. at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy. Dallas, Texas 75211.
