Obituary for Linda Yakel

Linda June (Ingram) Yakel, age 80 of Irving, Texas, passed away on December 9, 2020, at Northgate Nursing Home in Irving, Texas. The daughter of Paul Vern Ingram and June Burris Ingram, Linda was born in Lorenzo, Texas, on January 9, 1940. After High School, she attended Saint Anthony's Hospital School of Nursing in Amarillo, Texas, where she completed her diploma on July 20, 1963, and continued her studies at Texas Woman's University. On July 20, 1967, she married Robert Leon Yakel Sr. During her career as a nurse, Linda worked in several Dallas area hospitals, finally retiring from the Irving Community Hospital. She was a loving mother to four children—two sons and two daughters and had a deep love for God. She was active in her church and enjoyed crocheting scarves and hats for those in need and blankets for premature babies.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Leon Yakel Sr., her parents, Paul Vern Ingram and Augusta June Burris Ingram, her sister Evelyn Chrystelle (Ingram) Trietsch, and sister Wilma Louise (Ingram) Lynch. She is survived by her brother, Herbert Harrison Ingram, sons, Robert Leon Yakel Jr. and William Robert Yakel, daughters, Donna Kay (Yakel) Strothers, Kathy Jewel (Yakel) Huffines and several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery beside her mother and father. Ben F. Brown Memorial Funeral Home performed cremation arrangements.
