Obituary for Lieutenant Colonel Charles Timothy Arthur Paul, USAF, Retired

Lieutenant Colonel Charles Timothy Arthur Paul, USAF, Retired, died after a long and fulfilling 98 years of life on Saturday, June 15, 2019. He was born in Cushing, Oklahoma to Arthur Herman and Anna (Roberts) Paul on Tuesday, January 11, 1921. Charles proudly served in the United States Air Force, serving his country for 24 and a half years before his retirement on November 1, 1966. During his time of service, he was a pilot, having served in WWII and the Korean wars, was a pilot trainer and worked as the NCO Academy Commandant Officer, and had been stationed in Germany and Japan. His family will lovingly remember him as a very determined and hard-working man, and could do anything he put his mind to, and they fondly remember this applying to the time he learned to knit. Charles accomplished and did so many things during his amazing life, he successfully owned and operated an independent jewelry store, volunteered at the Grand Prairie tourist info center for over 10 years, and was a member of the Arlington Gem and Mineral Club. He enjoyed traveling and road trips and visited all 50 states. Charles is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Anna Paul. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 77 years, Constance Paul; daughter Cheryl Volz; son Charles “Chuck” A. Paul and wife Maureen; granddaughter Vivian Volz and husband Greg Epstein; granddaughter Debbie Leahy and husband Dennis; granddaughter Becky Quinlan and husband Sean; grandson Christopher Contois and wife Aimee Howard; granddaughter Heidi Boulay and husband Thomas; great granddaughter Flora Epstein along with numerous extended family and friends. The family will receive friends between 6:00 and 8:00pm, Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 N. MacArthur Blvd in Irving. A graveside service with Full Military Honors will be held at 1:30pm on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mtn Creek Pkwy in Dallas. A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 310 SW 3rd St. in Grand Prairie, on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 1:00pm.
