Lena Mae Vardiman, affectionately known as “Cookie” passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020 at 79 years of age. She was born in Summersville, Kentucky to Cordie and Geneva (Carter) Williams on Wednesday, September 11, 1940. Cookie in her younger ages had worked in cosmetology as well as worked as a laborer at Jenn Aire and Texas Instruments. She enjoyed traveling when able, cooking but above all she enjoyed spending time with her family, and talking with her sisters on the phone. Cookie is preceded in death by her parents Cordie and Geneva, Eva Lee Bowens, Charles Williams, Kenneth Williams, Thomas Williams, Barbara Hoskins and Woodson Williams. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of over 61 years, John C. Vardiman, Sr.; daughter LeAnn Erving of Arlington, TX; son John Vardiman and wife Jeanette of Tyler; son Anthony Vardiman and wife Sheila of San Antonio; son Jeffery Vardiman and wife Susan of Arlington; son Kevin Vardiman and wife Kathy of Indianapolis, Indiana; sisters Esther Edmonds of Indianapolis, Indiana and Patricia Matthews of Manhattan, New York; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended loving family.
