Obituary for Larry Lee

Larry Lee, age 85, passed in the early morning hours on Thursday, July 30, 2020. He was born in Hollis, Oklahoma to Chester Arthur and Lillian V. (Holler) Lee on Saturday, October 27, 1934. Larry joined the U.S. Army in 1957, where he was stationed and served at the Ft. Bliss Army base in Elpaso, Texas until his relief from active duty in 1959. He continued to serve his country in the United State Reserves for an additional 6 years, during which time he was appointed the rank of Captain. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Larry began work at the LTV Aerospace and Defense Company in Dallas, where he spent 32 years of his career, retiring in 1994.
Larry was a resident of Grand Prairie for 37 years, previously from Irving and a member of the Woodhaven Presbyterian Church in Irving. He was a smart, kind and loving man who will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents Chester and Lillian Lee. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 63 years, Tanya Lee; daughter Lisa Lee; son Todd Lee and wife Betty; grandson Nick Lee; grandson Brandon Lee; great great grandchildren Miranda, Morgan and Travis Lee; sister Linda Powers and husband Larry; sister Lana Moore and husband Bob as well as numerous extended family and friends. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy in Dallas on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at 12:30pm. 15 minutes prior to the service, friends and family attending, will begin the processional line up at the cemetery in Lane 3. Public welcome but cemetery limits attendance at shelter to 30 people.
