Obituary for Joyce Marie Miles (Rich)

Joyce Miles, age 77, died on Thursday, April 25, 2019. While surrounded by her family singing hymns of the faith, Joyce was transitioned from her earthly body into her heavenly dwelling. Joyce was born in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, January 3, 1942 to Mable Rosetta (Hargrove) Rich and Walter Lee Rich. Joyce was a devout Christian woman, and faithful member of Heritage Church, Pentecostal Church of God in Irving. She was proud of her pastor and spoke very favorably of him to those around her. She enjoyed singing as part of the worship team alongside her daughter Gina. Joyce led her family in faith throughout the years, taking her children to church and raising them in a Godly way. She found true peace and joy in reading The Word of God. Her children know that without their momma’s prayers they would not be where they are today. Joyce was a prayer warrior and would not hesitate to pray for anyone she knew in need. Joyce loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking, especially breakfast for her kids. She was a phenomenal baker, her specialties being chocolate Meringue and coconut pies and she spent hours of her free time working on crossword puzzles. Joyce was an animal lover, with a special place in her heart for dogs. Ultimately though, Joyce knew what was important in life. She knew Jesus and wanted others to know him as well. Joyce’s faith has now been made sight, she is in her heavenly home and is reunited with loved ones gone before. She is preceded in death by her parents and grandson Aaron Miles. Left to cherish her memory and carry on the faith are son Douglas Earl Miles and wife Cindy; daughters Gina Gay Burton and husband Bill; Kristee Lynn Ward and husband Brett; brother Royce Lee Rich and wife Linda; grandchildren Amber Miles, April Miles, Makayla Hurley and granddaughter by marriage Emily Miles; great grandchildren Caleb Heffner and Kylee Heffner; numerous other nieces, nephews, family and loving friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 North MacArthur Blvd., Irving, TX 75061. Irving, TX 75060 A graveside service will immediately follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 E. Irving Blvd., Irving, TX 75060.
