Obituary for Jo Ann Patrick

Jo Ann Patrick went home to be with the Lord on December 19, 2020. She was born November 3, 1928 in Good Hope, MS. She is survived by her daughter Riche Louviere and husband Ason; her son Anthony Patrick and wife Beth; daughter-in-law Jean Patrick; her grandchildren Amber (Louviere) Johnson and husband Kevin; Thomas Louviere; Riley and Reese Patrick; a sister Louise Spann, sister-in-law Shirley Merchant and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Charles H. Patrick; her son, Joe H. Patrick; parents Eddie Cassell and Maggie Vollee (Easterling) Bright; brother Ealston O. Bright and wife Fran; brother-in-law Oscar Spann.
In 1969, she moved with her family to Irving, TX where she lived until her passing. She worked for Frito-Lay as an accounting clerk for 20 years until her retirement in 1991. After retirement she enjoyed time with her grandchildren, following them to their sporting and musical events, volunteering at Irving Cares, and eating with all of her family and friends at Joe’s Coffee Shop.

Jo Ann loved music of all kinds from doing the jitterbug, listening to Elvis Presley, singing in her church choir, and playing tambourine-on-stick with an entertainer at the assisted living facility she was in.

Jo Ann planned for her body to be donated to UTSW Medical Center for scientific uses and then for her remains to be cremated. Due to her health conditions, the family was unable to donate her body. Her ashes will be entombed with her husband Charles at the Dallas-Ft Worth National Cemetery at a much later date with her family members in attendance.

Memorial donations may be made to Irving Cares, www.irvingcares.org, located at 440 S. Nursery rd. Suite 101 Irving, TX 75060 or another food bank of your choice.
