Obituary for Jim "Coach" Riddle

Jim “Coach” Riddle passed away the evening of Sunday, August 16, 2020 at 89 years of age. He was born in Wichita Falls, Texas to James Hubert Riddle Sr. and Dora Lee (Nix) Riddle on Friday, July 17, 1931. He attended Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Business in 1953. Jim served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. After his graduation Jim began a career teaching and coaching football at Midwestern State University. Shortly after his teaching and coaching career, Jim worked for Drackett Corporation where he excelled and was promoted numerous times in his 24 year career. Jim was a great husband, father, grandfather mentor, and friend to many, and will be deeply missed. He is preceded in death by both parents and sister JoAnn Corbett. Left to cherish his memory is beloved wife of 56 years, Wanda Riddle; son Rick J. Riddle; son Rod D. Riddle; son Ron C. Riddle; sister Nancy O’Brian and husband Mike; granddaughter Courtney Rogers and husband Logan; granddaughter Carolyn Wenhold and husband Matt; granddaughter Kellie Nicole Riddle; great grandson Knox Wayne Rogers along with numerous extended family and loving friends. A celebration of life will be held 10:00am Saturday, August 29, at Oak View Baptist Church, 1004 S. Story Rd. in Irving - Please Note - Covid-19 restrictions are required for attendees of the service at the church
