HV Minter, a resident of Irving, Texas for 60 years, passed away June 22, 2020 at the age of 87. He was home, surrounded by his family. He was born October 19, 1932, in Red River County, Texas, to parents Chester and Gladys Minter. HV had many hobbies including bowling and fishing. He coached boy’s baseball for IBBA back in the 60’s. But his favorite time was the time he spent with his family. He was the proud owner of Minter’s Texaco in Irving, Texas for 25 years, from 1970 until 1995. He also spent 14 years as a school crossing guard at Townley Elementary School where he enjoyed every child and knew them all by name. HV shared his love for his “whole family” with his wife, Betty. They were married for 65 years.
HV is preceded in death by his father, William Chester Minter, mother, Gladys Rhea Minter, brother, Bobby Rhea Minter, and infant daughter, Janice Marie Minter. He is survived by his wife, Betty Minter; son, Johnnie Minter and wife Marla; son, Jerry Minter and wife Tammy; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 10 sisters-in-law, 4 brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
HV loved to make others smile, so every time you think of him, smile!
