Herb Engler, at the age of 93, after a long and full life, died on Thursday, May 09, 2019. Herb was born on January 24, 1926 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Hugh Herbert Engler and Ethel (Davidson) Engler. Herb, being raised in the south, was a real outdoorsman. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, but also enjoyed the game of golf. Herb worked as a manufacturers’ rep in his early years representing several companies in the building industry. In 1970 he moved to Irving, Texas to become a partner of a cabinet business. He went on to build his career with another cabinet firm and after working his way up the ladder from sales manager, he became president of the company. Herb is preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Mary Edith Engler. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Joy; son Kenneth Dale Engler; daughter Terry Engler Carpenter and husband Dennis; granddaughters Leigh Meredith Hornberger and husband Jason and Kelsey Anne Carpenter. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, May 13, 2019 at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75225.
