Obituary for Glenn Rackley

Glenn Rackley, age 87, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 31, 2020. He was born in McKinney, Texas to Ernest Green and Annie Beryl (Harris) Rackley on Wednesday, November 30, 1932. Glenn enlisted in the United States Army, and proudly served his country during the Korean War. In 1963 he moved to Irving, where he lived the remainder of his 57 years and was a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church. Glenn is lovingly remembered for his friendly, yet competitive personality. He enjoyed bowling and was a member of many leagues throughout the years. In 1990, Glenn embarked on an entrepreneurial endeavor, where he successfully owned and operated Reliable Pool Supply and Service until 2013. He is preceded in death by his parents and son Steve Rackley. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years, Lou Rackley; daughter Sherry Rackley; daughter Shawna Mullins and husband Jeff; daughter in law Susan Rackley; 8 grandchildren, Marianne Bowen, Brandi Bowen, Ryan Rackley, Nathan Rackley, Nick Rackley, Jack Mullins, Jenna Mullins and Jessica Mullins; 1 great grandson Matt Bowen as well as numerous extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 N. MacArthur Blvd in Irving for family only, with final placement at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery following. Click here to watch a video of the service
