George Albert Stephenson Jr., age 82, entered Heavens Gates on Saturday, January 18, 2020. He was born in Idabel, Oklahoma to George Albert and Francis Lavina (Hendrix) Stephenson on Sunday, March 14, 1937. George was an entrepreneur who successfully started and ran his own lawn sprinkler business, located in Irving, Texas. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents George and Francis Stephenson; sister Dorothy Lamoine Avant; sister Imogene Fern Tyler and sister Bobbie Catherine McManus. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Phyllis Stephenson; son Gary Wayne Stephenson; son Ricky Lane Stephenson and wife Sherry; Lori Ann Cummons and husband Roger; sister Dixie Joy Bursey; Grandchildren Harmony Peacock, Matt Peacock, Sunni Stephenson, Sissi Stephenson, Chad Stephenson, Will Stephenson, Blake Kuznair, Beth Kellum, Zach Stephenson, Logan Cummons and Taylor Stephenson; great grandchildren Matthew, Kailen, Riley, Emma, Brynn, Michael, Trevor, Max, Carleigh, Easton and Avery as well as numerous extended family and loving friends. The family will receive friends between 6:00 and 8:00pm, on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 N. MacArthur Blvd in Irving. A funeral service will be held 10:00am, Friday, January 24, 2020 a Christ Church, 1750 E. Airport Fwy in Irving with an interment at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens immediately following.
