Obituary for Eleanor Webster

Eleanor Webster, age 95, died on Saturday, December 28, 2019. She was born in Providence, Rhode Island to Joseph and Helen Pearl on Thursday October 30, 1924. Eleanor definitely loved her family very much and dearly missed her husband Charlie of 50 plus years after his passing in 1998. She was a private and very conservative woman who possessed a strong work ethic. Her daughter lovingly remembers how strict Eleanor was as a parent, and only wanted the best for her. She enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and earlier in her life she spent time volunteering at the First Presbyterian Church in Irving, stuffing toys for children in the hospital. Eleanor was a great fan of music and cherished the times when those from church would come caroling around the holidays. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Helen Pearl, husband Charlie Webster and brother in law Sheldon Hochman. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Sheila Smith and husband Mark; sister Alice Hochman; grandson Stephen Smith; granddaughter Lauren Johnson and husband Curtis; great grandchildren Skylar, Ryan and Brooklyn; sister in law Evelyn Tucker as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends. The family will receive friends between 10:30am and 1:30pm, on Friday, January 3, 2020 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 N. MacArthur Blvd in Irving. A graveside service at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 E. Irving Blvd will begin at 2:00pm the same day. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Kindred Hospice in Abilene at https://www.kindredhealthcare.com/locations/hospice/abilene-tx-3485.
