Obituary

Named Daniel Ulysses Anderson by his mom but renamed Bud by his dad…he was born July 30, 1924. Bud and his parents and sister lived with or near his grandparents as he grew up. The Fishers in Philadelphia, PA and the Andersons in Cleburne, TX. Bud as a very young man went to the Pacific Islands to serve our country in World War II. Upon his return he was stationed at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside California. He had many amazing tales about meeting actors and actresses who were welcoming our young soldier boys’ home. Bud worked until his retirement at Chance-Voight where he rose to the position of manufacturing engineer. Although he helped build airplanes, he did not want to ride in one. Of all his accomplishments, Bud was most pleased with his work in the Masonic Lodge where he held all positions at one time or another for 50 years.

Bud was a member of Living Word Baptist Church where he held the position of deacon. He loved visiting the people he was responsible for and he and Dora Lou got to know every hospital and senior facility in the area. He also loved recruiting people to join Living Word. Bud loved Jesus and loved serving Him. He ran his race, and he ran it well.

Many friends have told the family how much he was loved. Some of the words that were used to describe him are special, good man, incredibly funny, and extraordinary.

Bud is preceded in death by his grandparents, his father, John L. Anderson; his mother, Dorothy Fisher; his wife, Beverly Jean Anderson; and his infant daughter: Cindy Lou. He is survived by his wife, Dora Lou Anderson of Little Elm, Tx; daughter, Kim Johnson of Denver, Co; Jeri Silverman of Englewood, Fl.; Linda Ashley and her husband Bill Ashley of Irving, Tx; six grandchildren: Danny and Kevin Johnson, Saige Silverman, Michael, Cody, and Kyle Ashley; two great grandchildren: Clayton Ashley and Mykala Johnson, as well as numerous other family and friends who will miss Bud dearly.
