Obituary

Craig Stephen Southworth was born June 15, 1957 in Fort Worth, Texas to parents Dale Robert Southworth and Clara Jeanette Payne. He passed away April 26, 2020 at the age of 62 in Coppell, Texas. Craig enjoyed science, especially astronomy. He also enjoyed building models and being in nature. Craig was a good storyteller and very understanding. He was a good father and very supportive of his children, encouraged them to pursue their talents, always. He was a hard-working carpenter, and was very loyal to A&C Cabinets, the company he was employed with for 26 years. Craig loved music, especially classic rock some of his favorite artists included: Fleetwood Mac, AC/DC, Eagles, Alice Cooper, and ZZ Top. He loved watching movies; especially a good Sci-fi thriller, Close Encounters of the Third Kind was one of his favorites. He used to really be into Nascar, and two of his favorite drivers were Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt. He had a sweet tooth and loved chocolate. Craig was very handy and could fix pretty much anything around the house. He enjoyed reading. He liked suspense, fantasy, and mystery novels. The Nero Wolfe books were some of his favorites, he also loved Dean Koontz.

Craig is preceded in death by father, Dale Robert Southworth, and mother, Clara Jeanetta Payne. He is survived by Roma Southworth; son, Michael Southworth; daughter, Diana Southworth; brother, Rudolph Holden Jr.; numerous other family members and loving friends who will miss Craig dearly.

A special memory Roma and his children would like to share shows just how generous and caring Craig was. “One year, Craig offered to drive me and the kids to Kansas the weekend before the Thanksgiving holiday, so I could have extra time with my family. He drove me and the kids to Kansas, stayed for a night, and then drove back to Texas. Then he went to work until Wednesday, got off, and then drove back to Kansas to spend the holiday with them. Then they drove back to Texas, together. He didn’t have to do that, they could have all waited until Wednesday, but he insisted.”
