Obituary for Cheryl Penn

Cheryl Penn, of Irving, passed away Sunday, June 7th, 2020 at 71 years of age.

Cheryl was born Monday, August 9, 1948, in Brady, Texas to Herbert and Louise Penn. She graduated from Brady High School in 1966, then attended Lubbock Christian college.

Cheryl was such a special person with a servant’s heart, and a personality the size of Texas. Her family lovingly recalls how she would laugh with you and if the situation called, she would laugh at you. Her laugh was so funny and will forever be remembered and cherished by her loved ones.

Cheryl loved animals as much as anything, and adopted many pets throughout her life, that she loved and cared for. She would often even feed and spoil the neighborhood animals as well, and to say the least she was an incredible fur momma.

Cheryl was a smart, loving daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, and friend to many. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her nieces and nephews, at times having them over to spend the night.

One of Cheryl’s greatest passion’s in the last few decades was Jesus and the church. Her love for both where evident in her heart to be a part of the church and mission of the Gospel.

Cheryl is survived by her brother Herbie Penn and wife Janice of Longview; brother Terry Penn and wife Vicki Penn of Irving; niece Cindy Johnson; niece Katherine Poe; nephew Kevin Penn; nephew Joe Penn; nephew Zack Penn; nephew Kenly Penn; nephew Brad Penn; nine (9) grand nieces and nephews; three (3) great grandnieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Louise, her brother Kenny Penn, nephew Jeff Penn.

Cheryl will be laid to rest in East Texas on her brother's farm.
Due to the Covid19 circumstances we will celebrate Cheryl's life in our hearts and if able have a small family gathering another time.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contribution to your favorite church or charity in Cheryl’s honor."
