In 1965, my family moved into this neighborhood and Carl was the first person we met. He lived around the block from us and promptly appeared with his motor scooter, offering all of us a ride, ( except for me , cause I was too young .) When it was my Mother’s turn, she went off without knowing how to stop the bike and kept going around, and ,around the block while we laughed along with Carl, knowing he could tell her how to stop , but , didn’t for awhile, (he was mischievous that way.) To me, Carl always seemed to embody the true spirit of St. Ignatius as “a man for others.” When it came down to it, all he wanted to do is lend a helping hand. Thank you Carl, for everything you gave to my family , down to my little granddaughter that you helped me FaceTime not too long ago by showing her things in your backyard.

We will miss you , but , you to rest now.... good friend.

I'll always remember Carl as the young man I worked with on F-111A aircraft in the mid 70s. We were both stationed at Korat Royal Thai Air Force Base, Thailand. My treasured memory is our working on a few aircraft on one beautiful day with a clear blue sky, telling stories and jokes as we worked to help pass the time. We both eventually ended up as Flight Engineers on C-141 aircraft, albeit on opposite coasts. Carl was a friend and Brother at Arms. When he passed, I heard the sound of wings as he left on his final flight. RIP Brother.
