Obituary for Gary Wayne Long

Gary Wayne Long, lovingly known as PawPaw, passed away at the age of 72, on March 27, 2019. He was born in Borger, Texas on December 13, 1946 to JB and Joyce B. Long. Gary was married to his loving wife Glenda for 30 years, both enjoyed working together, running their business G&G Guide Service and Waterfront Lodging. He loved fishing and felt blessed to be able to do that for a living. Gary was a member of Alba Church of Christ in Alba, Texas. He loved his God, his church family, his wife and his family more than anything, as well as many close friends whom he cherished deeply. He enjoyed driving his truck for Lindamood Demolition and watching Nascar. His favorite above all was when he and Glenda would travel, which they did a lot of, traveling all over the United States. Two years ago, their daughter Kayla gave them a gift, which sent them on a trip of their life to Alaska. He is preceded in death by his parents JB and Joyce B. Long. Gary leaves behind the love of is life Glenda Vaughn Long of Yantis, Texas; son Richard Long and wife Robin of Midlothian; daughter Kayla Lindamood and Mike Dyson of Southlake, Texas; son Tim Wiggins and wife Vickie of Forney, Texas; daughter Kimberlie Wiggins of Yantis, Texas; son Troy Wiggins and wife Amanda; special daughter and friend Sheila Wiggins of Frisco, Texas; sister Barbara and husband Wayne of Desoto, Texas; brother Bobby Long of Canton, Texas; brother Carl Long of Corsicana, Texas; brother Doyle Long of Palestine, Texas; brother Rodney Long of Corsicana, Texas; 8 grandchildren, Mandy Collins, Zachery Wiggins, Randi Beard, Jake Lindamood, Misti Wilks, Kolten Wiggins, Garet Wiggins and Grace Brewer; 12 great grandchildren, Rex Collins, Carley Collins, Jaxon Wiggins, Lylah Wiggins, Zander Beard, Zoie Beard, Maximus Beard, Jayden Lindamood, Casen Lindamood, Ellye Lindamood; Stevie Lindamood and Brecken Wilks along with numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service to celebrate a life well lived will be held 10:00am, Monday, April 8, 2019 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 N. Macarthur Blvd in Irving.
