Stanley D. Barger, 80, slipped away peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday evening, January 2, 2019, in Irving, Texas. He was born in Prescott, Arkansas in 1938. Stan married the love of his life, Patsy, on December 26,1959. As a young man, Stan was active in sports and was an all-state basketball player in Arkansas before moving with his family to Irving, Texas. He worked at a Gunlock Chair Company which inspired him to open his own furniture sales business, which he ran for 25 years. In his spare time, he coached at the river-bottoms with the Irving Boys Football Association. After retiring from his business, he joined his wife in real estate. His hobbies included bowling, fishing, coaching, golfing and spending time with his granddaughters. He is preceded in death by his parents, Loomis Lotton and Mary Josephine Barger and sister, “Mickey” Avantine Marie Barger. Stan is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patsy, son and daughter-in-law Tim Barger and Lisa Mcdonald; daughter and son-in-law Kristi Kay and Richard Eatherly, brother and sister-in-law Paul H. And Hazel Barger, brother and sister-in-law Johnny and Jan Barger, sisters Sue Goodwin and Jo James, grandchildren: Blake Murphy and her husband, Chase, Kaitlyn Nicole Willis, Riki Eatherly, Brynnon Eatherly and future great granddaughter Massey Collins Murphy as well as many loving nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. A viewing will be held Monday, January 7, 2019 at Ben F. Brown Funeral Home, 707 North MacArthur Blvd., Irving, Texas from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with an interment to follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 E. Irving Blvd., Irving, TX.
