Virginia Collier

As one of the first female principals in Itving ISD, Wallace treated me with respect and helped me learn the ropes. He once told me that he expected me to take over public education in Texas. I laughed but due in large part to what I learned as an elementary principal in Irving, I went on to become one of the first women superintendents in Texas and the first female president of The Texas Association of School Administrators. Thank you, Wallace, for seeing more in me than I saw in myself!,
