Obituary for Bill Scrivner

On Wednesday, August 20, 2020, Joe Bill Scrivner, Jr. passed away peacefully at home. Bill was born in Loraine, Texas, on September 6, 1947. Preceding him in death were his parents, Joe Bill and Eleanor Scrivner, and his wife, Rose Gray Spiggott Scrivner. Bill is survived by: his brother, James T. (Sharon) Scrivner; his children, Paul Eisberner, Amy (Matt) Jamieson, and Tamara (John) Kerr; his four grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Bill graduated from the University of New Mexico at Albuquerque with a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master Degree in Management. Following service in the US Navy on destroyers, carriers, and a submarine, Bill retired as a Lieutenant Commander in July of 1995.

Final Arrangements on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, include a viewing at Ben F. Brown Memorial of Irving, Texas, at 9:00 AM and a brief graveside service with military honors and officiated by Rev. Marcus Womack of Plymouth Park Methodist Church at 10:30 AM at Sparkman Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.

Bill cherished his family and friends, past and present, and especially the times spent sharing food and drink. In lieu of flowers, please honor Bill by having a meal and making a toast with your family and friends.

Due to COVID-19 regulations the viewing is not open to the public. The family will contact those who are allowed to attend; however, the graveside is open to the everyone. Please note, face mask and social distancing are required for both viewing and the graveside service. There will be a procession from the funeral home to the graveside, if you would like to be a part of this please be at the funeral home no later than 10:00am.

The family has requested that dress attire be reduced to business casual, to help reduce the effects of the current heat on attendees.
