Mrs. Bettye Boyd, age 95 passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 in Plano, Texas. She was born to Mr. & Mrs. Neal Norman on January 3, 1925, in Dallas, Texas. Bettye worked for Chance Vought as an Engineer and later in life worked for Texas Rehabilitation Commission. She left her family with memories of her keen mind, spunky personality, and straight forward advice. Bettye loved her church family in Irving and in Carrollton. She was an avid reader and a very talented painter. Her family is grateful for the paintings she left behind and will cherish them forever. Bettye is preceded in death by her loving husband J. P. Boyd. She is survived by son James McHorse & wife Susan of Sherman; daughter Linda Thomas & wife Janet Coplin of Dallas; daughter Nancy Boorman & husband Joe of Carrollton; daughter Bonnie Boyd Selman of Irving; and step-son Ronnie Rae; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and numerous extended family members.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 11:00 am at Irving First Baptist Church Chapel at 403 S. Main. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the Irving First Baptist Church at 403 South Main Street, Irving, Texas 75060.

15 minutes prior to the service, friends and family attending, will begin the processional line up at the cemetery in Lane 3.
