Bettye Belvin, age 74, passed peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 7, 2019. She was born to Stephen and Evelyn (Samuels) Belvin on Thursday, March 29, 1945. Bettye is lovingly remembered by her family for her credible, trusting, dependable and strong-willed nature, as well as her cute contagious laugh, they will soon not forget. Bettye was involved with the Gospel Lighthouse Church, Cell Groups meeting with seniors and singing, the Red Hats and Christian Women Club. She enjoyed painting, participating in church activities, spending time with her other Red Hat members and above all spending time with her family. Bettye was a resident of Dallas for over 50 years, where she worked as a talented X-Ray Technician. She is preceded in death by her parents Stephen and Evelyn Belvin and brother Dwight S. Belvin. She leaves behind her sister Verdeen Hallman; niece Dawn Deherra; niece Shawn Rojo; niece Regina Belvin; nephew Brian Hallman; her beloved dogs as well as numerous extended family and loving friends. The family will receive friends between 6:00 and 8:00pm, Thursday, May 16, 2019 at brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 N. MacArthur Blvd in Irving. A funeral service will be held 11:00am, Friday, May 17, 2019 also at the funeral home with an interment at Restland Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Ave. in Dallas, immediately following. The family requests memorial donations to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation of Texas, which can be done online through her memorial page.
