Obituary for Al Smith Hart

Al Smith Hart will certainly be remembered as a very friendly man full of quick comebacks. He had an answer for everything which resulted in long conversations that he tried to blame on others, but his efforts proved futile. Everyone knew he was the real culprit. Al’s priority above all else was his family, which included his cousins in Arkansas. Al was a committed husband who remained faithful to the love of his life Mary for 58 years. He always looked forward to family dinners. For Al, it was enjoyable knowing his wife Mary was cooking something fabulous in the kitchen while he anticipated the family’s arrival. Al had too many hobbies to mention and was always quick to get involved in the projects around him. His yard was perfectly manicured, and folks would often ask how he did it. Al had an obvious impact on the room when he entered it and was a pure joy to be around. He will be remembered as a patient teacher to many and a community-oriented man. He volunteered as a little league coach for Kid Sports. Al had at least 10 or so of every tool he used and knew if one was missing and who had it. Al was also a patriot who served his country in the US Army as a reservist for 8 years in the 90th Armored Division. He worked 34years before retirement from Dallas Power and Light. To cross Al’s path was definitely a blessing! He was a sanctified servant who set a wonderful example as an instrument of God’s righteousness and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Al is preceded in death by his father, Oscar Hart, and mother, Ethel Ellis. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Hart; sons: Jimmy Don Hart and wife Sondra, and Bryan E. Hart and wife Anita; granddaughter, Mallory Hart Vasquez and husband Luis; great grandchildren: Xander and Blakely Vasquez; aunt, Lena Guess; and numerous other extended family and loving friends.
