Agnes Blevins, age 96 after a long and beautiful life, died on Friday, May 31, 2019. Agnes was born on November 28, 1922 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Arthur W. Coffman and Florence Tennessee (Allen) Coffman. Agnes was a faithful and active member of First United Methodist Church in Irving, Texas and a member of the Homebuilders Sunday school class. She spent many hours volunteering at Methodist Hospital Dallas. Agnes worked for the Irving Independent school district as a library aide for Barton Elementary and Paul Keyes Elementary. Agnes is preceded in death by her husband Robert Lavins Blevins (2014), brother Wayne Coffman, and sister Dorothy “Dot” Masengil. Left to cherish her memory are sons Allen Blevins and wife Debra, Steve Blevins and wife Ginger; grandchildren Katharine Ramirez and husband C.J., Josh Blevins, Zachary Blevins; great grandchildren Haley Ramirez and Ryan Ramirez; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family and loving friends. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 am on Thursday just prior to the funeral service at 10:00 am, June 6, 2019 in the chapel of First United Methodist Church, 211 West 3rd street, Irving, TX 75061. A graveside service will immediately follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 E. Irving Blvd., Irving, TX 75061.
